A beverage distributor in the southern U. S. recently received a DOT audit. The Vice President of Supply Chain called J. J. Keller to share the results. Due to the distributor’s challenges with the driver qualification process, the auditor suggested the company investigate web-based management tools.
Based on the distributor’s decentralized structure and multiple terminals, it appeared that J. J. Keller’s Encompass was a solid fit. The VP wanted a uniform process to manage drivers throughout the company. The distributor’s executive team knew J. J. Keller was a stable company with a solid reputation for customer service and regulatory expertise. However, before committing to the program, the VP wanted to make sure his new Safety Director and regional managers were also onboard with this new system.
In order to ease implementation to Encompass, an initial audit by J. J. Keller and Encompass was required. Ten files were audited, which highlighted the power of Encompass – the organization of data was consistent and logical, and compliance deficiencies were clearly identified. The distributor agreed to sign up for Encompass shortly thereafter.
Encompass is a web-based driver and vehicle management compliance tracking system currently being used by nearly 1,000 companies with 200,000 drivers. Encompass offers anytime, anywhere access and are perfect for companies with multiple locations.
